You should almost always contact IT by sending an email to 'Helpdesk', as this account sends the messages to our issue-tracking ticket software which helps us efficiently manage our workload.
The 'IT Administrators' group sends a regular email to all IT staff, and should be used for non-support issues (informing us of things, asking 'who handles XYZ?' etc.).
